Our History

His Way Recovery House was founded by Brother Al Deardoff in 1998 after going through his own personal struggles with life's challenges.  Brother Al reached out to those in need by just talking to the less fortunate and offering beautiful words of encouragement everywhere.  Brother Al began his ministry with small groups of people at first and through his compassion, dedication and his sheer determination, he was blessed in 2001 with opening his 1st sober living home for women.  Through the years with his continued passion to serve, His Way Recovery House opened its' 1st men's sober living home and since has grown to 11 sober living homes for deserving men (six in total) and women (five in total)!

The following is a timeline of what God has done with establishing His Way Recovery House Ministries along with a bit of Brother Al's personal testimony.

1996

I got clean and sober!!

1998

The first Thursday of January 1998, the very first His Way Recovery faith-based twelve step recovery meeting was held at Liberty Baptist Church.  These meetings were held continuously every week until 2002.  I carried a very heavy burden during this time for the suffering addict/alcoholic that had a desire to recover - but had no safe place in which to do so.

1997

I realized God was calling me to something special - to help the addict/alcoholic thru recovery.

2008

On January 13, 2008, His Way Recovery Baptist Mission was established for our clients and for their families as a place where they can come together and worship. We continue to have church services and recovery meetings for any and all who desire to experience recovery through Jesus Christ.

Towards the end of 2008, by God's grace and abundant love, we were able to open 3 more recovery houses!  Since 1998, we have seen literally thousands of souls touched and/or saved.  God has truly blessed this ministry!

Our vision is to continue to reach the addict/alcoholic and lead them to Jesus Christ.  Your prayers and monetary support will go directly to this ministry to reach the addict/alcoholic who desires recovery.
